How I Raised My Credit Score By More Than 100 Points

Posted by LeTara Moore on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, In : Credit

If you look through some of my older blog posts, you’ll see that my financial life hasn’t been ideal. The sporadic posts ought to be a clue to that. I’ve had success in working for myself, but when things got rough, they got rough. It is tough when you want to go a different route from working a “regular” job. I went to college for four years but never graduated (that’s a post for another time) and with all of my experience in retail in some capacity, it hasn’t been easy tryi...

Before and After Motherhood: Working from Home

Posted by LeTara Moore on Thursday, November 3, 2016, In : Work from Home Lifestyle

A little history about me:

I've always been free-spirited. When I was a teenager I decided that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. In high school I discovered that I could earn extra cash online by taking surveys. In college I learned about mystery shopping. I had tried a few internet work-from-home programs, but none of it really suited me. I loved to write, but had a hard time trying to determine how I should go about pursuing it. I came across independent contractor opportunities in a varie...

How I Make $30 a Month with Clixsense

Posted by LeTara Moore on Monday, May 30, 2016, In : Make money online

Update 11/20/2017: I no longer use Clixsense. Their system changed dramatically and I earn more money with other website, so I made the decision close the account.

As a single mother I have never had the issue of having too many diapers, too many wipes, too much food or too much anything when it comes to my toddler's needs. Extra money is always needed and when I get it, it goes a long way. I work part-time and supplement my income by participating in surveys, mystery shopping, merchandising a...

If You Need More Money, Give Yourself a Raise

Posted by Tara MeShale on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, In : Make money online

I need more money. Most of us do. So, what am I doing about that? I'm looking for more ways to earn more money. Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk) has been one of my best friends as far as earning a few extra bucks quickly is concerned. I'm in a bind right now not having a sitter to watch after my daughter while I go off mystery shopping and inspecting for the day, so I have to find a way to make up for what I am not earning out in the field. For me, this is where Mturk comes in to play. Today I ...

Relationships...Building and Maintaining Them

Posted by Tara MeShale on Sunday, April 26, 2015, In : Work from Home

I have been a registered mystery shopper since 2009. I attempted my first shop in 2011, but failed miserably because I got nervous and forgot some of the instructions for the shop. I successfully completed my first shop in November 2011 when I was trying to find a new job and wanted to see how much money I could really bring in with mystery shopping. I wasn't sure how much money I could possibly make, so I set a goal for myself of $50. Imagine my excitement when about a month after I complete...

Unexpected New Beginnings

Posted by Tara MeShale on Sunday, April 19, 2015, In : Work from Home
Wow! It is hard to believe that we are nearly halfway into 2015 already. Even harder to believe is the fact that I haven't updated this site in almost a year. Well, things happened. I gave birth, had a plethora of personal problems that distracted me from doing a lot of online activity. Now I'm back. And I'm not stopping until I become a millionaire. Over the next several weeks this website is going to get a total makeover and be more appealing and organized. The first thing to change is the ...

Building Up Income

Posted by Tara MeShale on Sunday, May 25, 2014, In : Work from Home
Update 11/20/2017: This post is about three years old now and I'm not sure when this site went down. All I know is that after I cashed out a few times I suddenly could not cash out anymore. A few weeks later I could not log into my account. Eventually, the site shut down. It was good when it was good, but like many online earning sites, it did not last long. You have to make the most of online opportunities while you can and remember that they come and go. Some last and some don't.

In the pas...

Almost Halfway Through the Year

Posted by Tara MeShale on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, In : Work from Home
So I'm almost halfway through the year and it seems that just as things were starting to pick up in January, they began falling apart again. Everything from traffic tickets to having my license suspended altogether. Not having any gas money to complete mystery shops or inspections was my biggest issue considering the amount of driving involved in both, especially the inspections. I only recently began work on a very lucrative contract with an inspection company, but have had to essentially re...

Give a Little Bit

Posted by Tara MeShale on Sunday, December 8, 2013,

Wow! It's amazing how time flies when you're working like crazy. My hours increased on my job, I signed contracts with new inspection companies and things have been picking up. Unfortunately, I'm not as far along as I was hoping to be by this point. At this particular moment I don't have any money at all. The past couple of months have been a blur and I'm trying to regain some clarity. I've still been clicking daily on the PTC's, but I'm nowhere near where I was thinking I would be by this po...

So Excited! First Referrals!

Posted by Tara MeShale on Saturday, August 31, 2013, In : Make money online
This week has been great PTC-wise. Earlier this week I got my first direct referral for PTC Professor and today I just got my first referral for ClickTrackProfit. Will they be active? Only time will tell. It won't do me much good if I have referrals and they're not active with the programs because the commissions I receive will be based on their activity. However, considering these are my first direct referrals for either site, I'm super excited. There are so many different programs and websi...

Shifting the Focus

Posted by Tara MeShale on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, In : Work from Home
So it has been almost 30 days since I started my part-time PTC (Paid-to-click) business and I'm really starting to see the potential. I'm still working my way through the ClickTrackProfit training videos, though I have skipped a day here and there because business has picked up considerably this past week. I've been getting mystery shops and inspections like crazy. Well-paying mystery shops, I might add. However, after my first two inspections I completed nearly a year ago I figured that the ...

Every Penny Counts...Still

Posted by Tara MeShale on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, In : Make money online
A couple of years ago I wrote an article titled "Every Penny Counts." The focus was on programs like InboxDollars and how many people start with a program such as that and quit soon after because the money doesn't add up as quickly as they would like. The thing is, I've seen plenty of testimonials from people who have earned hundreds or thousands of dollars using sites like these. I personally have earned a few checks with them, so I know it is possible.

A lot has changed with InboxDollars ov...

Don't Quit Your Day Job...Yet

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, August 5, 2013, In : Work from Home
I've put the plan in motion and now I'm rolling. I've either re-registered with paying sites that I've used before or I've registered with new ones. I have sticky notes all over the wall directly in front of my computer so that I have daily reminders as to why I should continue on with my efforts and not give up. I also have my daily plan of action on the wall so that I'll stay on track. The number one thing on the list is prayer. Prayer really does change things. I'm a firm believer in God a...

Putting the Plan into Action

Posted by Tara MeShale on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, In : Work from Home
It's been established that I'm trying to get back into the game. I've begun my marketing campaign for this blog and a few online programs that I'm a member of. I had been juggling a few things like mystery shopping and merchandising with a few surveys here and there, but there's been an issue with mystery shopping that I'll go into detail about in a future post. Long story short, it hasn't been as lucrative for me the past two months as it normally is. On top of that, with the field inspectio...

New Things

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, July 29, 2013,
I'm trying something new today. Instant Payday Network. They pay cash daily, which is what I need. All I really know for sure is that it involves a lot of ad posting. Hopefully, it'll work for me. I really need the money. Anyway, I'm setting my plan into motion to earn more money.

I spoke with a gentleman today about an independent contractor position with his company as a field rep. What is that exactly? Well, in what I've learned over the past several months of being an inspector/field rep i...

Financial Hardships

Posted by Tara MeShale on Thursday, July 25, 2013, In : Work from Home
Obviously, I've been away from the blog for a long time. I've been mystery shopping like crazy and even started getting into field/insurance inspections. The money was finally starting to roll in when my bills began to increase with my income. Not good. So, what do I do? Write about it. Writing is such a stress reliever and I can write my heart out for as long as I want. The mighty pen and paper (or in this case, word document and keyboard) will generously take in every word I write, no matte...

Every Penny Counts

Posted by Tara MeShale on Friday, December 28, 2012, In : Make money online
Happy holidays to everyone who reads this! It has been forever since I posted to this blog, but I felt compelled to add another post before the year ended. While I was completing the daily poll yesterday on Swagbucks someone left a comment about Swagbucks being a waste of time because one Swagbuck equals one penny. Well, I’ve always had the mentality that every penny counts, especially when you don’t have one. I never did go back to my job, but between mystery shopping and inspections, I...

Moving on Up

Posted by Tara MeShale on Friday, October 12, 2012, In : Work from Home
I’ve really been enjoying my time off from work since I recovered from being sick about two weeks ago. I think my illness was brought on by stress, so now I’m a lot more relaxed than what I was, so I’ve been able to enjoy this fall weather. I’ve read several books. I intend to spend more time working on my own book. I don’t know if I can finish it by Nov. 1 like I had planned, but I think I’ll put a dent in it. It’s all coming together.

My calendar hasn’t been as full with mys...

Made it Through September

Posted by Tara MeShale on Saturday, October 6, 2012, In : Work from Home
Well, I made it through the month of September! That’s reason enough for me to celebrate. I have not been back to my job, but I’m not totally disappointed. I hated my job and I’ve been able to spend my time off learning new things and exploring some new career options. Just last week I completed an online tax course and passed it with a 94%. I was so excited, especially considering the difficulties I’ve had with college the past two years. With the all the spare time I’ve had I have...

Working Smarter, Not Harder Part 1

Posted by Tara MeShale on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, In : Make money online
The only way to really escape the rat-race and attempt to beat the economy is to work for yourself. Self-employment is the way to go and I have found that with a little bit of effort in your spare time outside of your day job, should there ever come a day when you’re laid-off or unemployed, you won’t be in as big of a rut as I am at this particular moment in time. I’ve had a significant reduction in hours and have spent the majority of the past nearly three weeks at home, looking for wa...

Mystery Shopping Paying Off

Posted by Tara MeShale on Sunday, May 13, 2012, In : Mystery Shopping
I think I can say that mystery shopping is beginning to add up. No, I don’t think I can…I know I can. Not that I’ve made a great deal of money from it, but I have made enough to convince me to continue on with it. Since March 2012 I have earned $296.92. My largest payment so far has been $170.48 that I received in April for the shops I completed in the month of March. My goal was to average about $50 per month in mystery shopping earnings to add some money to my savings account. Unfortu...

What Can I Do to Make Money?

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, April 23, 2012, In : Make money online
I wrote this post a while back and I'm publishing it now to better establish what some of my goals are in all of this online activity. I hope any who reads this is able to benefit from it.

If you've ever done an internet search for ways to make money online, then you probably already have encountered several websites, articles and videos about paid surveys. They're everywhere, saturating the worldwide web and you're likely to read all kinds of opinions either for or against taking surveys onl...

Borrowing Money

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, April 16, 2012,
When you borrow money, you never really seem to be able to pay it back. Or at least that’s how I feel right now. I was short on my rent at the beginning of this month. I borrowed some money from my bank. Now my weekly payroll check is being used as a payment for my debt and I will not have enough money on my own to pay next month’s rent, which means I’ll have to borrow some more money. The fortunate thing, though, is that I did have sense enough to have my paychecks split into two diffe...

Short on Cash: Mturk

Posted by Tara MeShale on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, In : Make money online
So, recovering from my miscarriage, getting back into the groove of school and moving to a new apartment next week all have my plate pretty full right now, and right now I’m strapped for cash. What am I going to do? My rent is due next week as well as my payment for my Tae Kwon Do class and yesterday I had to spend some money I had no intentions of spending because of a flat tire. Well, here is what I’m doing to get as much extra cash in my pocket and hopefully make enough so that I won...

Unfortunate Update

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, March 19, 2012,
This past week has not been the best of weeks…but I’m surviving it. It’s been almost a week since I had my miscarriage. I’ve done one secret shopping assignment, but I took off from my actual job this past weekend to stay with my dad while I recover physically and emotionally. A miscarriage is a terrible experience that I wouldn’t dare wish on anyone. It seems like when it didn’t hurt physically it hurt emotionally and I cry uncontrollably. Today is a new day, though. It’ll get ...

Back Again

Posted by Tara MeShale on Monday, March 12, 2012,
The funniest thing happened. Yesterday I attempted to log into my blog reallifebusiness.weebly.com and saw that I had been deleted. Apparently, I had violated their terms of service by putting too many ads on my site. The thing is, I had just put up a post this past Thursday about a survey company and included a referral link to the survey for anyone interested in signing up. I only make posts like that once every couple of months. There were a few small badges and banners for other sites tha...

About Me

LeTara Moore Since 2005 I have made thousands of dollars online. I've tried almost everything from paid surveys, paid to click, freelance writing, mystery shopping, merchandising and more. I am always looking for new ways to make money. Now I'm a mother and I have even more reason to go further in my online adventures. The focus of this site is not only to show some of the easier ways to make a little extra cash, but also to journal some of the ups and downs of side-hustling and attempting to work for myself. Most of what I post probably won't make you rich, but it will be something to help ease some of the financial strain and won't take too much time. I love to read and write and I also run a blog that showcases my creative writing. I really enjoy learning and I find the best way for me to learn is to share what I've gained with others. DISCLAIMER: Many of the links I post are affiliate links, meaning I may receive financial compensation as a result of click-thrus and signups. However, I only post links to websites and programs I trust and I provide honest feedback. I only post my honest experiences with any site I promote.
